Auckland's Wild Side Tour

From NZD $168.00
  • Duration: 6 Hours (approx.)
  • Location: Auckland
  • Product code: PQACYD

Leave the city behind you and come on an adventure to Auckland's wilderness!

After meeting your guide in central Auckland or being picked up from your hotel, we'll make a first stop at the volcano Mt Eden to walk around the crater and enjoy great views of the city, its two harbours, and its many ancient volcanoes – including our next destination, the Waitakere Ranges. With lush subtropical rainforest, waterfalls, jaw-dropping sheer cliffs and rugged beaches, this is Auckland's wild side.

We'll make a stop at Arataki Visitor Centre to orient ourselves and see some Maori carving, then head down to Karekare Falls for a short walk through native rainforest to a waterfall.

Next we'll head to the iconic volcanic Piha Beach, where you can take in sweeping views out to the Tasman Sea, walk on black sand, and dip your toes in the waves at this infamous surf beach. We'll explore around the rocks to the Keyhole sea cave, then return to the main beach for a picnic lunch, or maybe even classic kiwi fish'n'chips from the local takeaway shop!

After lunch we'll make quick stops to admire a giant native kauri tree and some epic views back to Auckland city, then head to a West Auckland vineyard or craft brewery to sample some local drinks.

This tour is flexible, so if your group would rather skip the vino and stay on the coast, we'll venture on a short clifftop hike instead, before returning to the central city by 2:30pm.

Your local guide knows all the best photo spots and will be happy to snap some insta-worthy pics of you throughout the tour – to make sure everyone at home is envious!
